Our History

Connect directly with Irish history, Dublin’s medieval city and contemporary culture from the comfort of The Trinity City Hotel. Our friendly staff and legendary location will help you get the most out of your stay, the city and our hotel.

Our historical Georgian building tells its own story; from a Coal Merchants, Army Recruiting Office to central fire station for Dublin City. Full of hidden histories and marvellous mysteries, you’ll find hints of heritage throughout your hotel stay.

History is built into the walls of our hotel including original Georgian buildings and features (including the old shop front which is now home to our Number 26 Suite), a former fire station and an authentic courtyard garden.

Our building dates back to Viking times and the site has housed Dublin’s history including Tedcastle’s Coal Merchants, the British Army recruiting office and the Dublin Fire Brigade, a station which kept operating for over 100 years.

Our Location

We are located on Pearse Street in Dublin 2, near all major transport hubs and taxi ranks, including the Luas light rail system, the Dart city trains, the bus network and the national rail service.
